# Cardiometabolic Risk: Heart, Blood Vessel and Metabolic Health Cardiometabolic risk is the combined likelihood of conditions such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke arising from interacting metabolic and cardiovascular factors. It is not one laboratory result or a diagnosis by itself. ## In simple terms Assessment may include blood pressure, glucose or HbA1c, lipids, smoking, kidney function, age, family history, waist circumference, physical activity and existing disease. The importance of each factor differs between people. ## Why it matters during GLP-1 care GLP-1 or dual-incretin treatment may influence weight, glucose and some cardiovascular outcomes, but it does not replace blood-pressure, lipid, tobacco, kidney or diabetes care.
